In preparation for the rollout of the new Virtual Store (VS) facility in the PhilGEPS website, a briefing and walkthrough on the features of the said facility was conducted last 27 September 2018 to 14 pilot agencies as identified by the Procurement Service.

The new VS will allow government agencies to view, search, select, and procure common-use supplies and equipment (CSEs) through the PhilGEPS website. In the new VS, an agency will no longer need to submit an APR for the procurement of their CSEs since the basis will be the APP-CSE that will be uploaded in the PhilGEPS website. Orders will be placed through electronic means, payments will be made through an e-Wallet and agencies will just have to wait for the delivery by PS or by suppliers of their ordered CSEs. Agencies may likewise pick up their order from the PS Main Warehouse. There is less use of paper for transactions and less face to face transactions and manhours spent to submit orders physically at the PS.

Aside from the pilot agencies, the PS also identified prospective agency users, e.g., agencies that meet all the requirements regarding the use of the new VS.

A memorandum will be issued by the GPPB to support the rollout and implementation of the new VS. The next step for the attendees from pilot agencies will be for them to establish an e-Wallet, register for the use of the Virtual Store and attend the hands-on training that will be conducted by PS-PhilGEPS.

For inquiries regarding the use of the Virtual Store, agencies may get in touch with the Marketing and Sales Division at 689-7750 local 4019.
