The Procurement Service - Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) welcomed Mother’s Day weekend with a simple celebration in appreciation of mothers in its workforce, May 8, 2025.
Spearheaded by the Human Resource Development Division of the Administrative and Finance Office (AFO), the activity was filled with laughter, music, fun games, and tokens of gratitude. In her message, Executive Director (ED) Genmaries “Gen” S. Entredicho-Caong emphasized that the essence of motherhood goes beyond biological ties.
“Sa mga nanay natin… at lahat po ng gumaganap na bilang ina sa mga buhay natin… the ones who nurtured us,” ED Gen said, also recognizing those who play maternal roles both at work and at home.
“This program is a celebration of all the mothers who are with us today here at PS-DBM… We would not have been what we are now if not for our mothers,” AFO Director Atty. Marlita V. Dagsa added.
Throughout the day, several health services were held. These included HPV vaccination, medical check up for cervical cancer, medical consultations, and a brief talk on reproduction and family planning, among others—all for free. Various wellness booths were also made available. Another highlight of the event was the showcasing of an audio-visual presentation that featured members of the workforce together with their family.
As a staunch supporter of women empowerment and gender equality, PS-DBM fosters a supportive work environment that enables mothers to shine and reach their full potential at work, ultimately making an impact in communities and the nation. | May 8, 2025/PM
