The Procurement Service – Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PS-PhilGEPS) offers Desktop and Laptop Computers for the Medium-term Information & Communications Technology Harmonization Initiative (MITHI) which is an e-government effort of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and Department of Science and Technology-Information and Communications Technology Office (DOST-ICTO) that aims to harmonize and ensure inter-operability among ICT-related resources, programs and projects across the whole of government. PS-PhilGEPS aggregated the ICT hardware requirements of government and procured these through competitive public bidding.  After the successful PS-PhilGEPS Workshop with Merchants in October 2015, the PS-PhilGEPS is organizing the 2nd Annual Workshop with Merchants with the theme, “Promoting Transparency, Value for Money and Competition in PS-PhilGEPS Procurement”. This workshop is focused primarily on informing and updating the participants of the business opportunities in the PS-PhilGEPS and the policies and procedures in procurement. Likewise, this initiative aims to get more merchants to join in tenders for the aggregated procurement of commonly used supplies and equipment (CSEs) for the government as well as non-CSEs in 2017, estimated to be in the amount of more than Php 12 Billion.

The European Union (EU) SWITCH Project is currently implementing the Technical Assistance (TA) activity on Green Public Procurement (GPP) for the Philippine government through the Government Procurement Policy Board-Technical Support Office (GPPB-TSO), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Procurement Service-Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PS-PhilGEPS) and other agencies.

The EU is a politico-economic union of 28 member states (such as Germany, France, Italy, Spain, etc.) that are located primarily in Europe. As a regional cooperation strategy, it has made the issue of "sustainable consumption and production" a priority which leads to the launching of the SWITCH-Asia Programme to help interested consumers, businesses and supporting associations switch to a more sustainable paradigm in 2008.

The goal of the programme is to promote economic prosperity and help reduce poverty in Asia by encouraging industries and consumers to aim for sustainable growth with low environmental impact in line with international environmental agreements and processes. Such initiatives support Green Public Procurement (GPP) in achieving "public procurement for a better environment".

The PS-PhilGEPS has been making available to government agencies and to government employees even, cost-friendly Information Technology (IT) equipment. Years ago, PS-PhilGEPS had “PC ng Bayan” and the “Laptop ng Bayan” projects which were successful.

The construction of the Php 935-million New National Institutes of Health (NIH) Building of the University of the Philippines (UP) Manila Campus has kicked-off with its Groundbreaking Ceremony on 20 July 2016. PS-PhilGEPS Executive Directors Atty. Jose Tomas Syquia and Rosa Maria Clemente attended the ceremony.
