The basketball team of the Procurement Service – Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PS-PhilGEPS) won the kick-off game during the opening of the 5th Palms Basketball Invitational League at the Palms Country Club in Alabang, Muntinlupa City last April 16, 2016.

The tournament is participated in by six (6) teams from various organizations and games are conducted every Saturday afternoon starting March 16, 2016 up to July 2016.

PS-PhilGEPS officials and staff

Taking off from the definition of “team” in the dictionary which is a group of individuals working together to solve a problem, meet an objective or tackle an issue, the PS-PhilGEPS officers and staff held its annual assessment and team building activities on March 21 to 23, 2015 at Calubcub Bay Resort in Laiya, San Juan in the Province of Batangas. The first day was dedicated to planning sessions by each functional group i.e. Executive Office, Technology Innovation, Operations, Contract Management, Financial Management, and Administrative Group, after which photo sessions were held at the grassy grounds of the resort. Games were held wherein the Blue Team, from among five teams, was adjudged as first place winners. Executive Director Tom Syquia, on the second day, called for a townhall meeting wherein matters regarding the just-concluded reorganization were discussed and other issues pertinent to PS-PhilGEPS operations were clarified.

Microsoft Philippines, together with its fulfillers First Data Corporation (FDC) and Wordtext Systems Inc. (WSI), conducted an event entitled “Productivity 2.0: Making Technology Work for You” on March 15, 2016 at the Manila Hotel, Manila City. PS-PhilGEPS managed the invitation of government agencies that were recipients of funding for information technology resources under the MITHI (Medium-Term Information and Communications Technology Harmonization Initiative) program. MITHI is an e-government initiative of the DBM and DOST-ICTO that aims to harmonize and ensure inter-operability among ICT-related resources, programs and projects across the whole of government. PS-PhilGEPS aggregated the ICT hardware and Microsoft requirements of the government and is currently in the process of procuring the second tranche of PCs and laptops under the MITHI program. In partnership with the PS-PhilGEPS and in support of the MITHI project, Microsoft is offering discounts for the Office 365 Pro Plus (3 years) for only P10,000.00 valid untilMay 24, 2016.
